Trump Administration Likely to Support Renewables

Trump's support base is rural America. And guess what, rural America is embracing renewable energy rapidly, more so even than the cities.

I just spent the last year on road trip visiting all the National Parks in the Lower 48. Naturally, I spent nearly all that time in Trump territory. Do you know what I saw? Windmills and solar panels everywhere.

Large installations are bringing jobs to rural workers and land rental payments to farmers and ranchers. Household installations are taking isolated homes off the grid and saving owners a bundle.

Many conservative, rural Americans may not buy into man-made Climate Change. But they sure buy into making and saving money. That's part of why deep red Texas produces and sells more wind energy than all other U.S. states combined. Money talks.

This excellent column by Karl-Erik Stromsta in Recharge News explores further why the Trump Administration will support renewables. While it might not be as aggressive in supporting the industry and halting Global Warming as a Clinton (or Stein) administration would have been, economic necessity will keep us moving forward.

I'm also pretty sure a fierce competitor like President Trump won't want the U.S. to get beaten by the Chinese in this industry.
